Drinking Distasters

May 23, 2011

PhotobucketI’ve posted about drinking and dieting before, but not really about the associated consequences. This past weekend I had a friend visiting town and really wanted to celebrate. This involved fun things like getting all girled up and ready for a night on the town in a frilly dress and red lipstick. Unfortunately, it also involved twisting an ankle really badly on the walk home and now I am unable to exercise, let alone walk around my house at any sort of normal pace.

Sure, drinking when you’re trying to lose weight is unproductive: you have to burn off the alcohol you consume before you work on any other consumed or stored calories. And, the calories from drinking carry zero (or very very little) nutritional value. Getting injured while drinking is actually counter productive. Not only did I blow my dieting efforts for Saturday, but I’ve sabotaged my ability to workout for the next few days.

Yet another reason to lay off the drinking and focus on my exercise and eating habits. At least we had a lot of fun!

  • Waist: 34″
  • Hips: 42″
  • Bust: 39″
  • Thigh: 27″
  • Calf: 17″
  • Upper Arm: 11.5″
Lots of progress this week! 1.5 inches off my waist, .5 off each arm and (SADLY) 1 inch off my bust. Hopefully that was back fat… Lots of exercise and healthy food choices last week, and here’s to more of the same!

Clothing Tutorial

May 20, 2011

So many firsts happening in this post. I’ve had a WordPress app on two different phones now, but never tried posting through it until this very moment. If you’re reading this, you my friend are witnessing history in the making.

Yesterday I was lurking in the Target ladies’ clothing area, as I often do, and happened upon 50% off maternity t-shirts. So, this is my first clothing tutorial: how to turn a maternity tee into a dress.

1. Buy the shirt.
2. Put the shirt on.
3. Take your pants off.
4. Go out drinking and get yourself banged.

Who knew maternity clothes were not only helpful while you are pregnant, but they’ll also help you get pregnant as well? (No one was actually banged in the making, or as a result of wearing this dress). Use a condom kids.

Pints to Pasta 2011

May 17, 2011

PhotobucketI am proud to announce I have registered for my first race: Pints to Pasta 2011 in Portland, OR. I have been running further than a 10k most weekend days, but I haven’t been running for a purpose or goal other than fitness. I am really excited to run in an official event, and I’ve talked my roommate (a stanch non-runner) to participate. Plus, beer and pasta… BEER AND PASTA!

If you live in the area and you’re interested in participating we have room to carpool.

  • Waist: 35.5″
  • Hips: 42″
  • Bust: 40″
  • Thigh: 27″
  • Calf: 17″
  • Upper Arm: 12″
No change this week. I fell off the fitness wagon and had Tillamook blackberry ice cream, Thai and Chinese food. Not going to lie it was delicious, but halted my progress dead in its tracks. Not worth crying over spilt milk–or digested dairy of any kind. All I can do now is move forward, and I’m happy to say I am killing it this week.
Part of my falling off the wagon involved attending an awesome Mustache Party, here’s my sexy mustached face:

  • Hips: 42″
  • Bust: 40″
  • Thigh: 27″
  • Calf: 17″

Only a slight change: looks like my calves have gotten a tad slimmer. Sort of a silly thing to be excited about, but I’ve never really been able to wear boots. Watch out next fall, boots will be happening!

Skinny Lips

May 8, 2011

PhotobucketNormally, the title of this post would be a bad thing, but I recently saw this product Thin Gloss, on an episode of ABC’s SharkTank. The idea is that this lip gloss has herbs in it that make you feel less hungry. Using and smelling the gloss is supposed to help suppress your appetite, so if you use it before a meal you’ll eat less. I can’t say I trust a weightloss product that hasn’t been evaluated by the FDA, but it is a neat idea.
