Measurements haven’t really gone up or down at all. I guess that’s good, but I’m hoping to see some drops soon since I’ve been able to do more cardio now that my knee is on the mend. Sam and I rode bikes this weekend AND I got my fastest running mile in on Saturday (11:56 minutes). We also didn’t get any frozen yogurt–I feel like an addict here–6 days clean and froyo free. If I’m craving sweets it’s going to be Greek yogurt with a bit of raw honey and cinnamon. Still sugar, but at least it’s natural and free of hot fudge, gummi worms and oreo pieces.

Measurements are holding steady this week. For not being able to work out much due to my knee I’m just thankful they’re not going up. On Saturday I went for a run–the first one in a month–and managed to bang out over 2.5 miles. My knee is just now feeling okay, so that’s not a great recovery rate, but it felt good to get outside. There is also a new Crossfit gym next to Sam’s apartment building that I want to check out. Maybe just for a couples weekly Saturday activity or something (depending on the rates); I’ll keep you guys posted, literally, because this is a blog. Ha.

The title of this post is deceptive as I didn’t take my measurements this morning. I’m returning from a brief blogging hiatus because my mom suffered a heart attack on May 25th, and I’ve been in the hospital helping her recover from a quadruple bypass. Needless to say health comes before internet and I’m proud to report that she is now recovering at home right along schedule. This experience has motivated me to work even harder to get the rest of my excess weight off. Despite still having an injured knee I’ve been doing modified workouts and eating right. I don’t want to follow in her footsteps and have major open-heart surgery when I’m in my 50s. So, here are my measurements from last week, and I’ll update them next week when I’m not struggling to catch up with work. It’s good to be back blogfriends!

Once again this last week has been gorgeous weather. I took advantage of the sun and got outside for over 17 miles of jogging! My goal was to hit 15, so I’m really happy I was able to push a little further. Yesterday I got out and did 5 miles, which is my longest run to date. I’ve also been really strict with the diet and I think it’s paying off–all of my measurements are down a tad today. I have an official update with Lyndsi tomorrow and despite not being able to get myself out for a run this morning, I’m thinking it’ll be good news.

Well I’m sure it depends on where you live, but it is a BEAUTIFUL Monday morning here in Eugene. I got up at ran at 6am and it was so nice to get outside in the sunshine to wake up a bit. I didn’t take measurements today because I know my legs will be all sorts of inaccurate. After the Cinco de Mayo 5 on Saturday, I hit the gym for about an hour, then ran another 5k distance yesterday, and ran 2.5 miles this morning–my leg muscles are all sorts of swollen. So, here are my measurements from last week, and I’ll update them tomorrow morning when my body has had some time to recover.

  • Waist: 32″
  • Hips: 40″
  • Bust: 37″
  • Thigh: 26″
  • Calf: 16.6″
  • Upper Arm: 12″

As for the race, it was awesome (again) and I even registered for The Dirty Dash immediately afterward. I also met a new friend, Sarah, who runs the same pace that I do and we exchanged contact info. Hopefully we’ll get training together soon! I’m also registering for the 34th Annual Rhody Run happening Saturday, May 19th. Andy’s family happens to live in Florence so we’ll get to stay with them and enjoy the Rhody Days festivities in conjunction with my run. Hope everyone gets outside and enjoys the sun today!

Aside from my thigh, and barely my calf (baaaaarely), I am back down to the lowest measurements I’ve ever taken. This week Andy McBee has vacation time, and we spent the weekend together–which hasn’t happened in months (maybe over a year). I wasn’t totally lazy, and made it to workout three times, but not as hard as I usually would.

Tonight there will be running (cause I can’t forget I’m 5 days out from my next 5k) and then heading to the gym for a lil’ StepMill action and some sauna. I have my next official update with Lyndsi tomorrow so I’ll know what I’m weighing in at and what my body fat percentage is very soon. 32% and under for women my age is healthy, and I was just above that two weeks ago, so hopefully I’m in a healthy range now–can’t wait to see!
